This is the welcoming committee at the airport..... I was waiting for Karen to arrive. Can you pick me out in the frame?
This was my Tuesday....... Spent at the Bureau of Immigration.. You see, I have 14 days from the time I arrive in India to register for a work visa..... The only real treat was Deepak picked me up in one of those Auto Rickshaws..... Boy, was that a fun ride......

Then we went to Bazaar on the streets and a Singapore Shopping Center..... They have a little of everything CHEAP......... I would have posted more pictures, but to upload a picture to my blog takes about 5 min. per pic. (that's if it works)
Then Karen and I spend the rest of the week looking at places to live....... This was a beautiful house w/4 bedrooms a study and a backyard....... It was sooo cheap.... But the big problem, it was way out in the country and about 35 min. to work (w/traffic)...... I will try to post more pics later. Also, we think we found an apt. we really liked and we're waiting to see if we get it...... It's more expensive but it's in town and close to work......

Great report! Yes, I could pick you out of the crowd at the airport!
I hope you and Karen get the ideal place you want. And it should be an easy commute to work ortherwise you are wasting lots of time back and forth.
The pics look good, but they do not enlarge yet. (I'm still looking for the answer.)
Next, I want to see your office building and your office etc. That will be fun.
Joe: Since this adventure is a far departure from your life as you have known it in the past, (and you family), let me suggest (strongly)that you write or record your thoughts now about India,your job,the community,,housing, food etc and your first impressions. Things you would like to read back on in five or ten years!
I did some of that when I deviated into different directions and it was fun to look back and see how weird you were at that time. Or Not!
I know you are very busy, but this Blog could be the vehicle in pursuing this endevor. There is a section which you can select "adult". Which lets no one in unless you let them. (In this case you let no one in at all. Just use this "closet" to record your own private thoughts and pictures. Then you keep adding.) When you are ready to expose it like say for your book! It could be very valuable property.
